“I have a baby who is six months old and I don’t have a lot of time to serve, but I would like to be involved where I can.  Are there ways I can help?”

This question comes up a lot, and we love the willingness of people to give in whatever way they can. So many people are invested in the thriving of future generations and eager for a way to support the work of The Mom Community. We’ve seen this play out, especially in churches.

This month, we wanted to shine a spotlight on a few ways that churches have rallied behind the Mom Community to serve single moms in Alanta, provide stability, and support their legacies.

• Abudant Life Chapel in Mellersburg, Ohio paid for the roof on our residential home to be replaced–an answer to our prayers!  The old roof was dilapidated and had leaked with rain, so this roof repair immediately improved the quality of life within the home and alleviated stress from the staff. Titus Yoder connected us with a roofer in Atlanta who provided excellent service and a quality build. 
• Ponce Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA has offered crucial resources and support for our monthly support groups. Each month, the church provides a space in which to hold the group, volunteers for childcare and a few meals.
• Lighthouse Ministries from Abbeville, SC and Lake Grace Church from Jessup, GA offered us gifts on Mother’s Day, which made our program participants feel special and seen.
• East Point Church in East Point, GA partnered with us on our first annual Mother’s Day Event. The women from this church generously devoted time and energy to planning the event, as well as an event space, volunteers, speakers and catering.

For most of these churches, their impact started with one person.
